Problem Statement
The everlasting struggle that we have all been through is learning to lace our shoes by ourselves. Children from a young age struggle to master this skill, while for adults they hate the hassle of tying it several times on a regular day.
Proposed Solution
A Canadian design house introduced the first self-lacing shoes without using any batteries, motors, springs, and gears. It uses the insertion of the foot to trigger lacing mechanism, benefiting from the body weight to adjust the tension. Also, a small lever is introduced to deactivate the system, solidifying the fact; it is a hands free operation.
